Girls Junior Varsity Volleyball, Girls Varsity Volleyball · OLE Hires New Volleyball Coaches

Vball coachesOur Lady of the Elms hires new Varsity Volleyball coaches for the upcoming 2016 season!  The Elms welcomes Head Varsity Coach, Grant Gowen and Assistant Varsity Coach Gabby Charley.

Coach Gowen comes to the Elms from Kent State University where he coached the Kent State Men’s Club Volleyball team and has been playing Volleyball since the early years of his life.  Coach Grant has a huge love and passion for the game of Volleyball and teaching young people how to become better athletes.  In his free time, he loves to teach music and be active.

Coach Gabby Charley is no stranger to the Elms!  Having graduated from the Elms in 2012, Gabby is anxious to get back to her Alma mater and lead the Panthers to a winning season.  Gabby comes to us from the University of Akron where she is majoring in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Business.  She has been Vice-President of the University of Akron Women’s Club Volleyball team for the past two years and has also coached CYO Volleyball at the Elms for five years.  She continues to play the game for fun in her spare time and has recently started to dabble in hitting the sand courts.  She comments, “The Elms has given me so much throughout the years that I am very much looking forward to being able to give back as a coach.  I was fortunate enough to work with the team last season, and very much excited to help the returning and new players further develop their skills.”

We look forward to watching Coach Gowen and Coach Charley lead our Panthers to victory!
